Hasselhoff let off from paying ex-wifes legal bills

A judge has ruled that David Hasselhoff doesnt have to pay an 189,000-dollar legal tab charged by his ex-wife Pamela Bachs lawyer, Debra Opri.

Washington, August 24 : A judge has ruled that David Hasselhoff doesn't have to pay an 189,000-dollar legal tab charged by his ex-wife Pamela Bach's lawyer, Debra Opri.

Bach dismissed Opri after the Baywatch star won custody of the former couple's two teenaged daughters.

Opri then sought a court order forcing Hasselhoff to pay her dues, amounting up to 189,000 dollars.

However, on August 23, a Los Angeles judge Mark A. Juhas issued a written ruling, saying that Bach never gave Opri the authorization to pursue Hasselhoff for payment.

"There is no evidence that Ms. Hasselhoff ever affirmatively consented to the filing of the motion, and both Ms. Opri's and Ms. Hasselhoff's pleadings are silent in this regard," E! Online quoted judge Juhas, as stating in the ruling.

"It is clear, however, that after the pleadings were filed, Ms. Hasselhoff through her [current] attorney [Mark Vincent Kaplan] on at least two separate occasions indicated that she did not consent to the motions," he added.

Juhas also didn't pay heed to Opri's claim that her retainer agreement with Bach gave the lawyer the right to recover costs from Hasselhoff.

A rep for Opri was not immediately available for comment.
