Down to earth George Michael impresses hostel residents

George Michaels behaviour was down to earth when he visited St Mungos homeless hostel in London last week, as part of his community service order last week.

London, Aug. 24 : George Michael's behaviour was down to earth when he visited St Mungo's homeless hostel in London last week, as part of his community service order last week.

A hostel resident has revealed that Michael was dressed like an ordinary man, and his behaviour with people was very down to earth.

"When he arrived, nobody knew who he was," the Daily Express quoted hostel resident Andrew Gilmour as saying.

"He was in a baseball cap, shirt and trainers and spoke to anyone and everyone and didn't act special. He was dressed down more than me," he added.

He also revealed that Michael helped people write songs about poverty, and about people who reside in hostels like them.

"I thought it was a really good thing because he's keeping drug addicts and alcoholics off the street. They're going to him rather than going down to the off-licence and doing a deal for gear. He was down to earth, a good man," Andrew said.

The 'Careless Whisper' singer was directed to perform community service as punishment for driving while under the influence of drugs (DUI).

Sleeping pills, anti-depressants, cannabis and club drug GHB were found in George's system after he was spotted dozing at the wheel of his car in October last year.
