Comeback, an inspirational sports drama to be toplined and produced by rapper star Ice Cube, will begin production on November 26.
Washington, Aug. 23 : 'Comeback', an inspirational sports drama to be toplined and produced by rapper star Ice Cube, will begin production on November 26.
Fred Durst is said to be negotiating to direct the drama for Dimension Films.
The project is based on a true story of Jasmine Plummer who, at the age of 11, led her team to the Pop Warner tournament, and became the first female to play in the tournament's 56-year history.
Cube will play the role of the former high school football star, who takes his niece, Plummer, under his wing as she becomes the first female quarterback in Pop Warner football history.
The script for the film was initially penned by Nick Santora, and it is now being rewritten by Doug Atchison.
Santora is producing with Cube and his Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez, reports Variety magazine.
