It seems that the Spice Girls are not the only ones performing in the coming months, for there are a lot of other girl-powered concerts in store for music lovers.

Washington, August 21 : It seems that the Spice Girls are not the only ones performing in the coming months, for there are a lot of other girl-powered concerts in store for music lovers.

Sheryl Crow, Avril Lavigne and Fiona Apple have joined forces to launch a femme-fuelled music event, titled, GirlFrenzy Festival.

The festival, to be held on Oct. 27 at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, will feature an all-day line-up of both chart-topping and up-and-coming female artists.

Apart from Crow, Lavigne and Apple, Starbucks darling Antigone Rising, iTunes sensation Sara Bareilles and MySpace hit Colbie Caillat are due to perform.

Tickets for the event will be put up for sale on sale Saturday, with a part of the proceeds going to benefit the fight against breast cancer and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Promoters say that more acts are expected to be announced.
