London, Aug. 20 : Beleaguered 'Babyshambles' frontman Pete Doherty has once again made headlines, but this time it for his heroic act of helping a victim of a motorway car crash on Saturday night.
The rock star and his bandmates were returning from the V Festival in Chelmsford, and were on their way to Stafford for their V gig the next day.
They saw a car smash into a concrete reservation at Toddington, and immediately leapt to the aid of the driver of the vehicle.
"They saw the overturned car billowing with smoke in the middle of the carriageway. They stopped and pulled a guy in his 50s from the vehicle. He had hit a concrete block on the side of the road and the car flipped over," the Sun quoted a band source as saying.
"The man was insisting that he had only had a few fruit juices, but they thought he was protesting a bit too much," the source added.
The tabloid also reported that the unfortunate man was treated by paramedics and escaped the crash with only a few minor injuries.
