Actor Clive Owen has insisted that he was never offered the role of James Bond in Casino Royale
Washington, Aug 2 : Actor Clive Owen has insisted that he was never offered the role of James Bond in 'Casino Royale'
Earlier reports claimed that the actor turned down the role, that later went to Brit actor Daniel Craig.
The 'Children Of Men' star said that the reports were 'spun'.
"I didn't turn it down. I was never offered it. It was all hype. My wanting the role was never an issue. It was all spun. By whom I have no idea," Contactmusic quoted Craig, as saying.
Owen, who has always said that the blonde actor was the perfect choice for the role, maintained that the Bond bosses cast the best actor
"That's ridiculous. Really. That's where you will get bad James Bonds if you cast a guy who just looks right. You cast the best actor," he said.
