Pitt helps saves historical house

Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt has helped preserve a historical house near Chicago by raising 50,000 dollars for its upkeep.

Washington, August 16 : Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt has helped preserve a historical house near Chicago by raising 50,000 dollars for its upkeep.

It has been reported that Pitt insisted that the house, which belongs to architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, be used as the location site for a TV commercial he was appearing in for a Japanese jeans company.

Thus the producers of the commercial were asked to pay the Landmark Preservation Council of Illinois 50,000 dollars for use and maintenance of the house for the four-day shoot.

"This is a wonderful thing that Pitt did," Contactmusic quoted David Bahlman, president of the council, as saying.

The 'Troy' star, who is an architecture buff himself, has sometimes designed the alterations of his own homes and sponsored architecture competitions.
