Actress Natalie Imbruglia has been signed for a new role in an Australian movie.

London, Aug. 16 : Actress Natalie Imbruglia has been signed for a new role in an Australian movie.

The multi-talented star had been waiting for three long years to secure the acting role, which came to an end with her new deal.

Speaking at her iTunes Live In London gig, Natalie revealed that her new role will not be like her last part as Rowan Atkinson's love interest in his film 'Johnny English'.

"It is a really gritty role based on a novel. I'm going to play a girl whose sister died when she was really young," British tabloid The Sun quoted her as saying.

"I'm so excited about acting again. It's been a long time. I'm not going to be turning my back on music. I'll be back recording by the end of the year working on my next album," added Natalie, whose new single Glorious is out August 27.
