New York, Aug 16 : Britney Spears might have invited extra Mike Encinias for a topless frolic in the pool, but it was a girl that she spent the night with.
The news comes from a close friend of the singer who told OK! magazine that it was not a man who the singer bedded the same night, but Shannon Funk, her assistant for three of the most tumultuous weeks in the her life.
"That boy who claims he went back to hang out with Britney and hook up with her? No, that's not what happened," the New York Daily News quoted, the pal, as telling OK! magazine.
"Instead of hooking up with him, [Funk] ended up back in Brit's room and bed," the pal said.
However Funk, who has also been subpoenaed by Federline's lawyer, denies get down and dirty with Spears, and insists that she will do all that she can to protect her.
"I love that girl. I will do what I can to protect her. But honestly I have nothing negative to say about Britney so let Kaplan go after me. I'm on Team Britney! I support her no matter what. Kevin's a bad father," she tells OK!
