Spice Girl Melanie Browns mother Andrea is afraid that the singer has married beau Stephen Belafonte on the rebound, and that she is still not over her split from Eddie Murphy.
London, Aug 14 : Spice Girl Melanie Brown's mother Andrea is afraid that the singer has married beau Stephen Belafonte on the rebound, and that she is still not over her split from Eddie Murphy.
Andrea Brown also thinks that the secret wedding, held in June in Las Vegas, was a "big mistake' on the singer's part.
Scary Spice's mum also revealed that the singer hit "rock-bottom" after her split with the actor, as well as the post partum depression after daughter Angel Iris' birth.
"I was with Mel for a month before Angel was born and stayed with her two months afterwards. She was so lonely, at rock-bottom. She had post-natal depression and was vulnerable," the Daily Mail quoted her, as telling the Sunday Mirror.
"All that with Eddie Murphy really knocked her for six, but you can't discuss it with her.
"She can't deal with it. She's trying to block it out.
"I think she's made a big mistake. How can you fall in love that quick?
"I'm desperate to speak to her. I feel like jumping on a plane and flying out to her. I'm so worried," Andrea added.
She also added that Mel B was not returning her calls, because she knew what her mother was going to say.
"Melanie is not the normally the sort to be taken in by anyone, but her hormones were all over the place after the baby (Angel Iris)," Andrea said.
"Maybe Stephen came along at just the right time and said all the right things.
"I need to speak to her, but she won't answer my calls because she knows what I'm going to say," she added.
Scary Spice's mum is also extremely worried that her daughter's new husband has been convicted for assaulting a girlfriend.
"I've read that he's got a conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and it really worries me," Andrea added.
