London, Aug 14 : Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has finally called it quits with her infamous boyfriend Freddie Fuller.
She revealed the break-up after reports of her engagement with Fuller led to the singer receiving death threats and her car being attacked by fans upset that she was linked with a man who was facing rape charges.
"I have split from Freddie for good and am recording with the girls. My life is back on track," the Mirror quoted Berrabah, as saying.
Earlier in February, Fuller was arrested following rape charges by her younger sis Samiya, but he claims that he was innocent and the singer has stood by him.
Her older sister Zakiya revealed that the 23-year-old singer was going through a very rough time.
"Amelle has been going through a really tough time getting death threats and abuse because of her relationship with Freddie. She even had the tyres slashed on her car," Zakiya said.
"She wants to make it clear that their relationship is over. She told me they have split for good and she doesn't want to be with him anymore," she added.
The elder sis insisted that the singer went awol from the band and missed a gig at Crathes Castle, near Aberdeen, due to depression.
"There were stories that Amelle went to a hotel in Surrey to get engaged but she was actually in the room alone suffering depression. She stayed there for a few days and never went out, just ordering room service. She has been struggling and has had to see a psychotherapist to get over her problems. Amelle was really suffering but now she is feeling much better and is working really hard," Zakiya said:
"She has had to catch up on recording sessions she missed but everything is going well. She says her life is back on track and hopes to make a fresh start without Freddie," she added.
