Jailed Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis has hit out against Playboy boss Hugh Hefner for not supporting him in his ordeal behind bars.
New York, Aug 14 : Jailed 'Girls Gone Wild' creator Joe Francis has hit out against Playboy boss Hugh Hefner for not supporting him in his ordeal behind bars.
In April, a judge found Francis guilty of after he failed to reach an agreement with a couple of 17-year-old girls, whom he videotaped in a shower in 2003 in Panama City.
When asked about Francis' sentence in an interview with Larry King in May, Hefner had defended his magazine and distanced himself from the whole episode.
"I'm not a fan. Because I think it's [exploitative], and I don't think he's a very nice guy,'" the New York Post quoted Hefner, as saying..
"I don't see any parallels . . . What sets the magazine apart is it really is a lifestyle publication, you know, with good fiction and good articles . . . It doesn't have much to do with what he's doing,' he added.
Francis said that Hefner was charged of a similar offence in the sixties and it is 'sad' that he has forgotten about it completely.
"Hugh Hefner was arrested in 1963 for a similar offence and pursued by law enforcement for decades. It's sad how quickly he forgets," Francis said..
"What I am going through now is exactly what Hugh Hefner went though, and what Larry Flynt went through, and I will prevail, because I've done nothing wrong," he added.
However, Playboy was charged with a similar felony in 2001, when five girls, whoop participated in wet T shirt filed a case against the magazine for marketing their video tilted as 'Playboy Exposed: All American Girls'.
A lawyer said that case was covertly settled out of court.
