Veterans - Lest We Forget

May 20, 2014 - INDIANAPOLIS, IN

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwired - May 20, 2014) - History tells us that the concept of logistics dates way back as far as the Greek and Roman Empires when military officers called 'Logistikas' were responsible for managing the supply and distribution of resources to enable their armies to operate efficiently during wartime.

Logistics management is as important to military operations today as it was a thousand years ago. Although defense forces around the world continue to have specialist 'Logistikas' it is fair to say that an understanding of logistics management is a characteristic that all current and ex service men and women share.

Flagship Logistics Group recognizes the value of such knowledge and is another reason why they are focused on hiring veterans to staff their Customer Care Center and why they have purposely designed a facility to cater for the needs of our veterans. On Memorial Day the nation will stop and reflect on the debt we owe to the many men and women who have lost their lives or been injured whilst serving our country. "At Flagship Logistics Group we are reminded of this every day and we have made a commitment to continue provide a work environment that provides our veterans with equal employment opportunities and ongoing support for our veterans." CEO Bob Moran

At Flagship Logistics Group they are also proud to be an active sponsor of the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation. The Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation is a non-profit organization that has since its inception in 2004 sent over 21,000 care packages to troops deployed overseas and has awarded over $400,000 in post secondary school education scholarships.

The donation to Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation is an extension of their commitment to support the veterans, therefore during this week of May 19-23 2014, Flagship Logistics Group will donate $5 from every load they arrange to the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation.

As Memorial Day approaches, the family at Flagship Logistics Group will take time out to remember all of our Military Men, Women and Families, past and present and to say Thank You for your sacrifices, dedication and service to our country.
