April 9, 2013 - LOS ANGELES, CA

Winston Baker, leading global producer of film finance conferences, today announced that the first annual Film Finance Forum Latin America will be hosted at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 21, 2013 in association with Variety and in conjunction with RioFilme, a P&A and equity investment company owned by the City of Rio de Janeiro.

"Winston Baker has hosted the most regarded names in entertainment and finance in Los Angeles, New York, Cannes, Zurich, Moscow, and Singapore and we are thrilled and honored to be working with RioFilme to present the inaugural Film Finance Forum Latin America in Brazil," says Amy Baker, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Winston Baker. "RioFilme's team has played such an important role in accelerating the growth of the entertainment sector in Brazil," added Ms. Baker.

From 2009 to 2012, RioFilme invested US$ 50 million in projects by Rio de Janeiro based companies, such as single picture productions, slate deals, and movie theater development. In 2013, RioFilme will invest at least US$ 25 million, including TV projects. "Our market is growing in a fast pace," says Sérgio Sá Leitão, Chief Executive Officer of RioFilme. "It'll be fantastic to exchange experiences and knowledge in the film finance field with producers and financiers from other countries."

Winston Baker will also be working with the Latin American Training Center (LATC), which has been an integral part of the Winston Baker and RioFilme partnership. LATC will be advising on local sponsorships, media coverage, and speaker acquisitions.
