WellTok Acquires Leading Health Incentive Management Company to Set New Performance Standard for Incentive-Driven Population Health Management

The combined entity creates the industry's most robust Health Optimization Platform for entities that manage population health by matching consumers to personalized activities designed to improve their health and providing the right rewards to motivate positive behaviors. IncentOne's capabilities will be integrated into WellTok's CaféWell suite of product offerings, currently positioned to reach up to 20 million consumers through contracts with leading health plans and health systems.

Continued pressures to reduce healthcare costs and implement value-based payment programs have fueled significant movement toward incentive-driven healthcare as a way to promote active consumer participation in health-related activities.

In 2013, updated provisions in the Affordable Care Act increased the maximum reward value for health and wellness programs to 30 percent of an employee's health benefit premium, and up to 50 percent for smoking cessation programs. Equally important is the impressive track record of successful results. IncentOne's clients have seen immediate and sustainable behavior change through the use of rewards including 80 percent mammogram completion, 70 percent BMI completion and 55 percent maternity management program participation.

IncentOne has assembled the largest, most comprehensive data set on how incentives drive behavior change based on nearly 40 million transactions and over 4,000 incentive programs. The data set includes information on activity completion, risk factors, survey data and eligibility/claims information. The information is used to not only predict the completion rate for specific activities such as exercise programs, health risk assessment completion, preventive screening and biometric assessments but also to determine the actions, values and rewards needed to optimize health programs. The database can also inform the design of how incentives should vary based on the complexity and timeframe of a desired action -- immediate (generic drug substitution) vs. longer term (BMI reduction), which is critical for a successful program.
