Stratos Volunteers Will Join Rebuilding Together Seattle in Transforming Parkview Group Home in Capitol Hill

March 26, 2013 - SEATTLE, WA

Stratos Product Development today announced that it is sponsoring Rebuilding Together Seattle's major program event, Spring Rebuilding Day, on April 27, 2013. Stratos staff, along with help from Matthew Dunn of Dunn Construction, will repair and update a home of Parkview Services near Volunteer Park in Seattle.

"Rebuilding Together Seattle is thrilled to welcome Stratos as one of our new partners," Rebuilding Together Seattle's Executive Director, Margie Thirlby, said. "In addition to serving as one of our top Spring Rebuilding Day sponsors, Stratos is providing exceptional leadership and volunteer support at their site. We are truly grateful for Stratos' generosity and enthusiasm for our programs and look forward to a very rewarding project."

"Our team is excited to have the opportunity to serve not one -- but two -- local nonprofits for Spring Rebuilding Day," Rebecca Dawson, Director, Marketing Communications, Stratos said. "At Stratos, we put great emphasis on culture, teambuilding and community involvement. Our staff is enthusiastically stepping up to lead the effort to ensure we will have a meaningful impact for the residents of the Parkview Group Home."

Rebuilding Together Seattle is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free home repairs for low income homeowners, with a mission to bring volunteers and communities together to help low income homeowners live in warmth, safety and independence. Spring Rebuilding Day, also known as National Rebuilding Day, is an annual program event that brings together nearly 200 fellow Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country to restore approximately 4,000 homes in one day with more than 50,000 volunteers. Recipients of services include the elderly, disabled, families with children, veterans, and nonprofit organizations. Locally, over 1,000 volunteers will restore 28 homes and nonprofit facilities from South Seattle to Mountlake Terrance, as Rebuilding Together Seattle celebrates its 23rd Annual Spring Rebuilding Day.

The Parkview Group Home that Stratos will revitalize is owned by Seattle-area nonprofit, Parkview Services. The Parkview Group Home is home to six developmentally-disabled adults. Parkview Services works to enhance the status of people with disabilities in their community and creates opportunities for genuine relationships. Parkview Services believes people with developmental disabilities have the fundamental right to live free of discrimination, have lives which reflect their personal preferences, be recognized for their contributions to their community, and to truly experience a rich, fulfilling life.
