QuickLogic Expands South Korean Operations to Support Business Growth in Asia

July 2, 2013 - SUNNYVALE, CA

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the innovator of ultra-low-power programmable Customer Specific Standard Products (CSSPs), today announced the opening of a new office in Seoul, South Korea to support the increasing demand for its custom and catalog CSSPs in Asia. With the new South Korean office, QuickLogic's Field Sales, Customer Solution Architects and FAEs will be able to work more closely with customers throughout the engagement and development process, enabling them to integrate CSSP solutions into their mobile products such as tablets and smartphones.

According to research firm IDC, the 2013 forecast for worldwide tablet sales is 229 million units, an increase of 59% over 2012. The strongest growth came from Android-based systems, including tablets made by South Korean and Taiwanese companies. IDC is also predicting total smartphone sales of 959 million units for the year, marking a nearly 33% rise from last year's figure, with South Korea accounting for 70 million unit shipments in the first quarter of 2013 alone.

"Given the explosive growth of mobile devices in Asia, South Korea is an extremely important location for QuickLogic," said Brian Faith, QuickLogic's VP of worldwide sales and marketing. "By expanding our formal presence in South Korea, we will ensure best-in-class sales and technical support for our strategic customers, as well as strong alignment of our solution roadmap to their future requirements."

The new South Korean office is located at Seongnam-City, Gyeonggi-Province, Korea.
