Prestige Resorts & Destinations Engages 2013 With New Executive Leadership, New Financial Partner and Re-Energized Organization

March 6, 2013 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN

Prestige Resorts & Destinations (Prestige), a global site selection firm dedicated to serving meeting professionals as their total site advocate with resorts, hotels, destinations and hospitality services worldwide, announced its plans for a re-energized organization moving into 2013. The company's refined vision includes a new executive leadership team, a new financial partner in Brookfield and a renewed effort to focus on the company's core strengths for optimal client support and growth moving into 2013.

The new leadership strategy places three of Prestige's long-standing senior executives into key roles, each well-positioned for success having previous experience spanning the organization: Doug Peterson, President/CEO, is an industry veteran who has served in various management roles within Prestige Resorts & Destinations since its inception in 1986. With 26 years in hospitality sales and leadership positions, Chad Houwman, Executive Vice President, has served as a significant sales producer and strategic contributor within Prestige throughout the last eight years; and Jeff Canham, Executive Vice President, has been leading the Prestige west coast sales team for the past 10 of his 13 years within the company.

Two key areas that will be enhanced in 2013 are business development and marketing support. In business development, two established Sales Partners, Deanna Sandstrom and Jennifer Summers, have been promoted to help manage Prestige's Hotel and Destination Management Company (DMC) partnerships. In addition, Connie Schuerer, Regional Sales Partner, based in Seattle, WA, has been named to lead the Prestige Cruise Division. The respective roles are designed to build stronger synergy among the company's selling team and its industry partners.

Rounding out the Prestige management team, seasoned meetings and convention industry professional Karen Madlock joins Prestige as Director of Operations. Madlock will lend strength in marketing, sales administration and operations.

Prestige's ownership partner Brookfield is poised to offer the organization financial stability for future growth. Having more than 100 years of owning and operating assets with emphasis on property, renewable power, infrastructure and private equity, Brookfield is a global alternative asset manager with over $150 billion in assets under management.

Doug Peterson stated, "Prestige is in an excellent position to continue to build on its long-standing history of integrity and booking results, delivering high value to our meeting planner clients and valued industry partners."

Peterson added, "Our plan is to continue to invest in best-in-class people and services with a renewed focus on destination representation and site selection. We're making strategic improvements to strengthen our current network of selling partners and to help attract new partnerships. A renewed emphasis on our core strengths will further our mission as the best-in-class site selection and destination representation services."
