First-Ever Forge54 Event Donates Invaluable Marketing Makeover to Local Non-Profit
October 21, 2013 - Costa Mesa, CA
The Orange County Food Bank recently became the first-ever recipient of a "marketing makeover" from Forge54 -- a collaborative, weekend-long experience created and directed by local entrepreneur Torrey Tayenaka. On Oct. 11-13, advertisers, PR professionals, designers, web developers, video production professionals and students converged at the inaugural event, hosted by Sparkhouse, to lend their time and talents to a great cause. Nearly 50 marketing and communication professionals participated in the whirlwind 54-hour collaboration and delivered completely revamped marketing, branding, social media, public relations, video and design assets intended to propel the future success of the OC Food Bank.
"This experience completely surpassed my vision for the event; I was blown away by the energy and dedication of our Forge54 team members," says Tayenaka. "It was incredible to see so many people rally around the concept and commit to voluntarily work through the weekend to produce a well-designed, approachable and inspirational marketing campaign that highlights all of the good this worthy cause does within our community."
Throughout the fast-paced weekend, more than 2,500 hours were dedicated to the project and services donated by the student and professional volunteers valued in excess of $161,000. Campaign materials produced by the Forge54 teams and video of the first event can be viewed here.
