Elemica Showcases New Supply Chain Operating Network at Recent inSIGHT 2013 European Conference

Ralph shared strategies to create more collaborative supplier relationships which lead directly to improving sales, market share and market reactivity, and reducing inventory and operating costs.

  • Technology Trends Affecting Supply Chains - Arun Samuga, VP of R&D, Elemica. Arun reviewed the schematics of Elemica's new Supply Chain Operating Network (SCON) and discussed key technology trends affecting supply chains, which include Social, Information, Cloud and Mobile.   • Supply Chain Requirements in a VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) World - Robert Blackburn, President Information Services & Supply Chain Operations, BASF. Robert discussed how market trends in chemicals have impact on chemical supply chains. Effectiveness and customer orientation at competitive costs is the key differentiator for successful supply chains. Technologies that help supply chains become more efficient include Business Analytics, Track & Trace, Visibility, and Process Automation & Collaboration.

  • Automation & Process Improvement Strategies - Onno Maliepaard, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Onno described their eProcurement process and how Goodyear uses business intelligence for process performance optimization and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.

Breakout sessions covering logistics management, network powered sourcing, mass partner on-boarding, and material order variability were given by Elemica technology and product management leaders.
