Early Registration Now Open for Canada's Largest National Student Journalism Conference

November 6, 2013 - Edmonton, AB

Early registration is now open for the 76th national conference of Canadian University Press, the world's oldest student news service and North America's only student press cooperative.

The conference, known fondly as NASH, will be hosted by the University of Alberta's campus paper The Gateway, from January 8-12, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta.

This year's theme, MASH UP, is a nod to the union of journalism and entrepreneurship, with sessions on new media, start-ups and self-employment. NASH 76 will not only help improve your campus newsrooms, but also the newsrooms you may launch someday.

Keynotes include MTV's Aliya-Jasmine Sovani, Sun Media's Ezra Levant, Al Jazeera America's Mark Coatney and the Toronto Star's Robyn Doolittle.

Lodging and conference proceedings will be held at the Chateau Lacombe in the heart of downtown Edmonton. Delegates can explore Alberta's vibrant capital city through exciting social events and inspiring sessions and workshops.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the John H. MacDonald Awards, the only awards exclusively awarded to campus press in Canada. The Johnnies will be presented on Jan. 11 at the awards gala hosted at the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Early registration lasts until Nov. 20. For more information and registration forms can be found online at cupnash.com. Follow Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for immediate updates.
