Celebrate National Pet Day With Live Q&A at 1-800-PetMeds(R)

April 9, 2013 - Pompano Beach, FL

1-800-PetMeds®, America's Largest Pet Pharmacy, is offering pet owners the opportunity to have their questions about pet health answered by holistic veterinarian Dr. Michael Dym on April 11th via PetMeds' Facebook page and will last for one hour.

Dr. Dym, a practicing veterinarian in the South Florida area, has contributed to PetMeds®' Pet Education information for many years, and often offers pet health advice through a daily blog.

"I love answering questions from pet owners in my own practice. When PetMeds® asked me to be a part of the Live Q&A session on facebook, I was honored. I am so thrilled to be able to help even more pet owners than the ones I see in my daily practice!" - Dr. Michael Dym, VMD

This isn't the first time Dr. Dym and PetMeds® have been on facebook together. Just last month, Dr. Dym answered questions from Facebook users that included questions relating to dry skin and diabetic concerns. The live Q&A session doesn't come a moment too soon, especially since April 11th is also National Pet Day.

National Pet Day was created as a public awareness outlet for many shelters to talk about the importance of adoption and donations to animal shelters. Many pet shelters are over occupied due to potential pet owners purchasing pets through breeders or pet stores. Therefore, National Pet Day is considered a venue for many shelters to educate the public about pet adoption and coining slogans such as "Adopt, Don't Shop".

PetMeds®' live Q&A session and National Pet Day go hand in hand since the Company continues to make strides in educating the public about pet health, and encouraging contributions to local shelters by facilitating a donations program.

To participate in the live Q&A with 1-800-PetMeds® and Dr. Dym, simply visit PetMeds' Facebook Forum tab (https://www.facebook.com/PetMeds/app_202980683107053) on Thursday, April 11th and type your question into the PetMeds®' facebook Forum. Dr. Dym will be answering your questions from 11am to 12pm EST.
