Cartera Commerce Selected by AlwaysOn as OnMedia Top 100 Private Company for Third Consecutive Year

March 6, 2013 - Lexington, MA

Cartera Commerce, the leading provider of card-linked marketing solutions, today announced that it has been named to the 2013 OnMedia 100 Top Private Companies list for the third consecutive year.

Issued by AlwaysOn, the OnMedia Top 100 list is comprised of emerging companies that are creating new business opportunities in the world of media, advertising, marketing, branding, and public relations. Winners are selected by an editorial team and industry experts for their leadership and "game-changing approaches and technologies that are likely to disrupt existing markets and entrenched players." The judges look at five areas of measurement: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value, and media buzz.

Cartera joins leaders such as Etsy, Quantcast, HubSpot, Pinterest, Shopify and Uber on this year's list. The OnMedia Top 100 Companies will be honored at AlwaysOn's OnMedia NYC event on March 19 at the Sentry Center in New York City.

"Cartera's card-linked offer (CLO) programs break through the current trend of consumer deal fatigue and rewards membership overload by providing a frictionless way for merchants to reward customers in the currencies they care about and collect most: miles, points and cash back," said Tom Beecher, president and CEO of Cartera Commerce. "CLOs enable merchants to drive acquisition, build customer loyalty, and grow marketshare, while providing cardmembers with offers that match their personal spending preferences. As card-linked marketing becomes a standard line-item on merchant marketing budgets, we're pleased that AlwaysOn has recognized Cartera as a leader once again."

The OnMedia 100 winners were selected from hundreds of technology companies nominated by investors, bankers, journalists, and industry insiders. The AlwaysOn editorial team conducted a rigorous, three-month selection process to finalize the 2013 list.

"With the massive adoption of smartphone and tablet technology, the world of retail and commerce is embracing new ways to connect consumers with the products they desire. Micro payments, social commerce, and tap-and-pay are just some of the new payment paradigms that are ripping apart the established norm, both in stores and on the Web -- and the OnMedia 100 companies are leading the charge," says Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. "With the number of innovative ideas on the horizon, the digital media marketplace is poised to experience even more growth and positive disruption during the next year."
