CaroTrans Broadens Global Scope by Opening Baltic and Commonwealth of Independent States, Including Russia, Service Network

May 13, 2013 - Clark, NJ

CaroTrans, a leading global NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, today announces a major expansion of its global service network with its entrance into the Baltic and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Russia, markets. The first of many future services is a direct, weekly LCL (less than container load) and FCL (full container load) export service from New York to KLP (Klaipeda) port in Lithuania. The first sailing from New York was April 22, 2013 with arrival in Lithuania on May 11. This expansion features a dedicated partnership with the Delta Logistics Group (DLG), a full-service global logistics company that fosters global import and export trade. DLG is well established in the Baltic and CIS region providing local experience, expedited deconsolidation services and trucking to major cities throughout the region including Moscow, where they have a local office.

In 2012, Russia became part of the World Trade Organization (WTO) bringing greater confidence and stability to businesses and trading partners, as well as strengthening their place in the global economy. With this new service, CaroTrans initiates the first step in their development and investment in this growing trade area.

"Our cooperation with leading NVOCC, CaroTrans International, allows us to start a new chapter of installing a reliable logistics system in the Baltic States and CIS. Together, we will be able to move the quality of services from the United States to this trade region to the next level and are ready to work hard to show that we can fulfill our customers' needs and help make them successful," said Zydrunas Pocius, Owner, Delta Logistics Group.

"Our expansion in the Baltics and CIS is a major step in developing the scope of CaroTrans' worldwide service network. We are extremely pleased to team up with DLG, a dominant global logistics provider, to deliver secure, expedited container services in this growth market," said Greg Howard, Global CEO, CaroTrans.

Alexander Kosachev, previously from St. Petersburg, Russia, recently joined CaroTrans in their U.S. headquarters in New Jersey to support and grow CaroTrans' Baltic/CIS service network. He has a wealth of Russian trade experience and customs knowledge having worked 8 years with an international freight forwarder establishing and growing LTL/LCL services into Russia.

The Baltic States include: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Customs Union includes: Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. The economic union, known as the Commonwealth of Independent States, is made up of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
