CGG :Sophie Zurquiyah joins CGG as SEVP of its new Geology, Geophysics and Reservoir (GGR) Division


February 6, 2013 - PARIS

CGG announces today the appointment of SophieZurquiyah as Senior Executive VicePresident of the Geology, Geophysics and Reservoir (GGR) Division. SophiejoinedCGG on February 5th and will be based in Houston, Texas.

Sophie is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris and holds a Master ofScience in Numerical Analysis from the Pierre and Marie Curie University(Paris6), as well as a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from theUniversityof Colorado. Having started her career with Schlumberger in 1991 as ageophysicsengineer, Sophie held a variety of positions in Engineering andManufacturing inFrance before moving to the United States to head a Schlumberger TechnologyCenter, which engineers and manufactures oilfield equipment. Sophietransferredto Operations in 2003, becoming General Manager for the Schlumberger SouthLatinAmerica region, based in Rio de Janeiro.

After five years outside France, she took the position of Human ResourcesDirector for Oilfield Services at Schlumberger headquarters in Paris. Shethenbecame Chief Information Officer for Schlumberger Limited between 2007 and2009, when she was responsible for Information Systems and IT servicesglobally.

In 2009 Sophie was appointed President of Schlumberger Data and ConsultingServices, based in Houston. In this capacity, she headed a businesssupported bya large group of Petro-technical experts that perform the interpretation ofSchlumberger measurements as well as provide sub-surface consultingservices. Inher last position, from mid-2012 she was VP of Sustaining Engineering, inchargeof a global organization supporting all Schlumberger commercial productsandtechnologies.
