Southern California Music Fans Flock to Coachella, Stagecoach Festivals

April 6, 2012 - South Windsor, CT

Though they're both situated on the fringe of the Inland Empire's urban area, the Coachella and Stagecoach Festivals draw fans from very different geographic regions, according to data from the TicketNetwork Exchange*. Coachella will be held for two weekends this year, from April 13-15 and 20-22, while Stagecoach will be held from April 27-29.

Over 70% of Coachella orders are from California, while a full 91% of Stagecoach orders originate in-state. Of the numbers cited, 57% of Coachella orders are from Los Angeles County, while only 18% of Stagecoach purchases come from the same region. Stagecoach ticket buyers are much more dispersed, with 51% living outside the large urban areas of LA and its surrounding counties.

The themes of the two Indio, CA-based festivals explain the difference in the geographic differences. Coachella, with its eclectic offering of indie rock, punk, and other music genres is targeted toward a younger, more city-bound audience. Stagecoach, meanwhile, is a country festival, and attracts more people from outside urban areas.

This year's Coachella will be headlined by The Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg, while Stagecoach will be headlined by Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, and Alabama. Visit the Coachella tickets page or the Stagecoach tickets page at to buy passes.
