SmithGroupJJR Promotes Five to Principal

SmithGroupJJR, one of the nation's leading architecture, engineering and planning firms, has promoted five to Principal.

Christopher Arnold, AIA, LEED Green Associate
With 13 years of experience as a project manager and project architect, Christopher Arnold is known as a leader and team-builder. His portfolio highlights his experience in state-of-the-art rehabilitation and outpatient facilities, most recently the National Intrepid Center of Excellence at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Arnold holds a bachelor of arts in urban planning from the University of California - San Diego and a master's of architecture from the New School of Architecture.

Jeffrey Cannon
Jeffrey Cannon is a member of SmithGroupJJR's Cultural studio in Washington, DC, and has dedicated his entire professional life to museum and cultural development. He focuses specifically on the artifact and collection environment, with involvement that encompasses fundraising and donor identification, and feasibility study, planning and design. For museums, visitor centers, memorials and culture centers, he has led architectural and conceptual design, interpretive and exhibit master planning, visitor experience planning and project management. Before joining SmithGroupJJR in 2011, Cannon worked for AECOM, where he led the museums/cultural component of the firm's global Leisure & Cultural market. Cannon's many U.S. military projects include the National Museum of the Army Reserve and the National Museum of the Marine Corps Collections Facility. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska.

Tom Faucette, PE, LEED AP
An electrical and computer engineer, Tom Faucette is recognized for his special expertise in design of electrical distribution and mission critical systems. His broad range of clients include the General Services Administration, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Director of National Intelligence, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the Department of Justice. In addition to his project work as the engineering leader for the Washington, DC office's Workplace studio, Faucette was involved in the firm's Engineering Documentation Standards Group, representing electrical engineering. Faucette started with SmithGroupJJR in 2002 as a graduate engineer after earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in computer and electrical engineering from North Carolina State.

Anthony Maher, AIA, LEED AP
Anthony Maher has over 20 years of experience in interior architectural design and project management in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He returned to SmithGroupJJR in late 2010, having previously served as a principal-in-charge and project manager with the firm from 1997 to 2007. During that time, he was interior design principal for the 482,000-square-foot expansion of the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center at Bolling Air Force Base. His return to SmithGroupJJR marked the office's strategic decision to pursue more government interiors projects and further develop the firm's portfolio that includes work for the Smithsonian Institution, the Drug Enforcement Agency, the General Services Administration, and the U.S. Department of State. Maher is a graduate of The Catholic University of America.

Robert P. Moylan, IIDA, LEED AP ID+C
With nearly two decades of experience in interior architectural design and project management, Robert Moylan's focus is on sustainable design. His interiors clients -- including corporations, associations and non-profits -- gain an intelligent, creative and sustainable approach to their designs. Moylan is known for educating clients on the environmental, economic and social benefits of sustainable design. He has been involved in over 20 LEED projects, personally leading seven through LEED-CI certification. Notably, Moylan stepped up to lead the design of the new SmithGroupJJR Washington, DC office, which is targeting a LEED-CI Platinum rating. He has served as the Sustainability Forum Advisor for the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), advising board of directors and members on sustainability issues. He is a graduate of The Catholic University of America.
