Gaming Standards Association Issues First G2S Product Certification to SPIELO International(TM) for Its INTELLIGEN(TM) Central System

October 1, 2012 - LAS VEGAS, NV

The Gaming Standards Association, the world's foremost standards-setting organization for the gaming industry, has issued the first Game to System (G2S) certification in its Certification Program. The certification was issued to SPIELO International™ for its INTELLIGEN™ Central System, the Distributed Game Management (DGM) application v2.2, and iLink™ site controller v2.2, which has been tested and certified for the Game to System (G2S) protocol.

To achieve GSA Certification, products must pass rigorous tests conducted by a qualified ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory and be proven to correctly implement functionality within a GSA standard. Having passed all tests, SPIELO's INTELLIGEN Central System, DGM application and iLink site controller may now proudly bear the GSA Certified mark.

"This is a landmark day in the gaming industry. We have created the standards, suppliers have built products to the standards, and now operators and regulators have solid proof of functionality with certified products as tested by an independent lab," said GSA President Peter DeRaedt. "This was a true coming together, as certification would not have been possible without the significant work completed by our committee members, all volunteers from the GSA member companies, without whose commitment, dedication, and perseverance, this outcome would not have been achieved. This was an incredible example of all facets of the industry working together and this will be another launching point for a new phase of our industry."

"This certification proves that SPIELO International walks the walk when it comes to open standards," said SPIELO International Senior Vice President and COO Victor Duarte. "It means customers can be confident that the G2S protocol has been implemented on the INTELLIGEN system exactly the way the GSA intended. As a result, we can deploy the system in a multi-vendor environment quickly and efficiently, offering full interoperability with other suppliers' GSA-enabled machines. We're grateful to the GSA and to our customers for the work they've done to promote and support open standards in our industry."

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been testing products to GSA protocol requirements since the inception of GSA's Certification Program. GLI Sr. Director of Engineering Dave Daniels said, "The G2S protocol is complex, and to promote interoperability, all products must be implementing the protocol properly. Ensuring the desired interoperability requires testing by GLI's experienced test engineers and subject matter experts, and we are very happy to have played a key role in this process. GLI is proud to be a part of this important milestone and anticipate that this will be a catalyst for the continued success of the GSA Certification program leading to better interoperability between products used by casino operators."

The GSA Certification Program was designed with operators in mind, specifically to promote interoperability. GSA Certification ensures correct and consistent GSA protocol implementation. Based on the International Standards Organization (ISO) 17025, the program consists of internationally recognized testing procedures with actual test requirements developed by GSA members.

INTELLIGEN offers stable, secure command and control capabilities uniquely tailored to operators of distributed and venue VLT environments, based on more than 20 years of proven central system experience. It interoperates with a wide range of VLTs using multiple protocols, including the Game to System (G2S) open standard protocol.
