Food Packages to be Sent to Tohoku-area Families - Robert Walters

January 26, 2012 - Tokyo

Following the devastation of the March earthquake in Japan, Second Harvest Japan (2HJ) - an organisation that provides food to those in need - focused their charitable efforts on providing food resources and assistance to Tohoku-area families currently living in temporary housing units. In support of this cause, Robert Walters Japan is proud to continue its support of Second Harvest Japan for the second consecutive year and helped to raise over Y258,000 which was used towards supplying food packages for 44 families. In conjunction with 2HJ, Robert Walters and other supporting companies and organisations were able to provide food assistance to over 300 families in December 2011.

Robert Walters Japan Director - Sales & Marketing, Rachna Ratra comments:
"Following the disasters in Northern Japan, everyone here at Robert Walters felt that Second Harvest was one of the organisations we wanted to support. We have worked with them before and experienced firsthand the positive influence they have had on the community. Second Harvest Japan has been a great partner and we are proud to continue our support of their tremendously valuable work in providing food resources to those in need."

Second Harvest Japan

Second Harvest Japan (2HJ) collects food that would otherwise go to waste from food manufacturers, farmers, and individuals, and distributes them to people in need such as children in orphanages, battered women and their children in shelters, and the homeless in Japan. 2HJ is the Japan's first food bank.
