Viking Minerals Provides an Update on Its Dolly Varden Gold and Copper Property in Mineral-Rich Elko County, Nevada

June 8, 2011 - Phoenix, Arizona

VIKING MINERALS INC. (VKML has reviewed the 3-D Induced Polarization (IP)surveymapping on its South Dolly Varden gold copper claims in Elko County Nevada.

"The importance of our property, is that the Dolly Varden area isrecognized asa classic eastern Great Basin district with base and precious metalsassociatedwith upper Paleozoic sediments intruded by Cretaceous auriferous magmas",statedCharles Irizarry, President and CEO of Viking Minerals. "This is a similargeological setting to the Battle Mountain Fortitude skarn gold type ofdepositwhich has hosted six operating mines."

The preliminary IP results show that the near surface response, reflectingthescattered veins and mineralization noted in the preliminary geologicalmapping, melds into a distinctive large chargeability anomaly at depth. Co-relationofrock and soil samples taken earlier is good with several mineralizedoutcropsdirectly above the chargeability anomaly at depth.

A review of the 59 grab rock samples taken outlined several anomalousmolybdenumanalyses (100 ppm range with one associated with the high grade silversample of1305 ppm Mo) and anomalous values in uranium (3 samples had 190, 160 and130 ppmU) all associated with the high grade copper and zinc grab samples (up to9.34%copper and up to 20.2% zinc). The association of minerals requires furtherinvestigation but suggests that the source of the mineralization is quitemetaliferrous.

This work was designed to delineate specific drill targets in the skarn andintrusive related mineralization that is analogous to the Fortitude type ofgolddeposit in east central Nevada. With these initial results, a furthergeologicalmapping and sampling program has been initiated. Specific drill targetswereselected from the IP data in preparation for drill permitting.

There are 298 mines in Elko County, Nevada, located between Reno and SaltLakeCity and is a prolific copper mining area. Two of the most noteworthy minesinclude the Robinson Mine which is an open pit copper and gold mine thathasoperated continuously since 2005 producing averagely 121 to 126 millionpoundsper year of copper. And the Bingham Canyon Mine, which is the world'slargestopen pit mine and has produced more copper than any other mine in history -approximately 14.5 million.

Viking Minerals is engaged in the acquisition and development of near-termproducing copper, gold and silver properties in the United States andCanada.Viking is focusing on developing its Dolly Varden properties innortheasternNevada, adjacent to the Victoria Copper mine. The Large resource of copperinthis area has been well documented and hosts two large operating mines .BattleMountain and Robinson. With solid management, an experienced technicalteam, anda large copper-rich land position in mining-friendly Nevada, VikingMinerals iswell positioned to be North America's next great mining company.
