Stoneware, Inc. announces the beta release of their cross-platform RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) client webRDP. The set of features offered in the webRDP client beta include:

  • Support for HTTP, HTTPS, and SOCKS 5 proxies
  • Microsoft Connection Broker support (Session Select)
  • Encrypted Passwords
  • Password Expiration
  • RDP Compression
  • Cut and Paste
  • Customizable Banners and Splash Screens

"We are excited to release the beta version of our webRDP client," said Rick German, CEO of Stoneware, Inc. "We think the ability to seamlessly embed the RDP client into hosted web applications and develop customized brokering solutions to backend Windows services will be valuable to many cloud vendors. As more and more services move to the cloud, it will be critical to integrate Windows applications and desktops into the environment. webRDP's ability to be easily embedded inside of a web browser and run across a wide variety of desktop platforms is key to any cloud migration."
