SHIFT Communications Rings in Four Bells at the 2011 Bell Ringer Award Ceremony

June 8, 2011 - BOSTON, MA

SHIFT Communications is pleased to announce that it has been honored by The Publicity Club of New England with four Bell Ringer Awards, in recognition of its excellence and achievement in "Regional Business Print Feature," "PR Firm Blog" and "Organizational Identity Campaign." Additionally, Amanda Monroe, Senior Account Manager at SHIFT, was honored with the first ever Ringer Award, recognizing her as a mid-level public relations professional who has excelled in the PR and communications industry.

This recognition validates SHIFT's expertise integrating both traditional and social media strategies and delivered the following results on behalf of our clients and staff:

  • The Company was awarded the Gold Bell for its work with Rapid7's year-long Organizational Identity Campaign. SHIFT Communications increased the positive perception of Rapid7 as a leader in the vulnerability management and penetration testing space that is a committed supporter to the open source Metasploit project and contributor to the security community. This Gold Bell reflected the volume of press coverage, quality of articles, inclusion of key messaging and overall recognition by national analysts, journalists and awards.
  • SHIFT was also honored with the Silver Bell for earning local press coverage in the Boston Business Journal. Through cross team efforts, SHIFT landed a print and online feature, offering commentary for clients Bit9, Sonian and Rapid7.
  • SHIFT Communications was honored with a Bronze Bell for its work on Slice, the Company's employee-run blog, which provides a strong mix of posts regarding agency life, public relations, social media, SHIFT initiatives and more.

This year, the Publicity Club of New England revamped its PR practitioner awards, adding the inaugural Ringer Award, honoring a practitioner who has demonstrated steady and significant progress in impacting his/her agency, company or practice and the New England PR community since entering the field of public relations. Amanda Monroe, senior account manager and seven year veteran of SHIFT, was awarded the very first Ringer Award at last night's award ceremony for her stellar work and PR prowess as a mid-level PR practitioner. This prestigious award is a testament to the superior work Amanda has put forth for her clients and her team throughout her time at SHIFT, along with her creation of a formal mentoring program for the firm.

"Tonight was a great night for SHIFT and I'm incredibly proud of our award winning teams," said Amy Lyons, president of SHIFT. "From the cultural impact of our Slice blog to the strategic and coordinated efforts on behalf of our honored client programs, this recognition represents the effort of an incredibly talented and dedicated team of PR professionals. I am honored to work with them every day and grateful for their contribution to their teams, clients and SHIFT."

Since 1969, the Bell Ringer Awards have recognized and honored excellence within the communications and public relations industries. The awards, which are open to professionals within the New England community, offer recipients peer recognition of their achievements. Experts from various communication professions judge entries and award Bell Ringers to the best comprehensive campaigns in 10 different categories and to single elements of a campaign in 23 categories.

The awards were announced on June 7th at the annual Publicity Club of New England Bell Ringer Awards dinner held at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA.
