Introducing Zacuto's New Stinger Camera Support Rig

June 8, 2011 - Chicago, IL

Zacuto's new DSLR camera stabilization rig, the Stinger, is now available for purchase. This new setup was developed to support DSLR shooters using an EVF or small on-board monitor. The Stinger rig is guaranteed to maximize mobility, stability and comfort while shooting with DSLR cameras.

"The Stinger made its debut at the Cinegear Expo on June 3rd and 4th at the Paramount Studios backlots in LA. Everyone really liked the Stinger with the Z-Finder EVF. Everyone was quite surprised how stable and comfortable it really is," says Zacuto VP of sales and marketing, Mandy Rogers.

This system includes Zacuto's height-adjustable DSLR Baseplate, follow focus, dual handgrips, shoulder pad and 7-pound Z-Lite counterbalance weight for a fully balanced in-line rig. The Stinger also comes with Zacuto's DSLR Handle, which makes for great for low mode shooting and easy carrying. This new camera support kit is designed to function with any DSLR camera or tripod and is compatible with any 15mm lightweight accessories. The Stinger kit is quite similar to the Zacuto Double Barrel kit. The only difference between the two is that the Stinger is configured in line rather than offset. Anyone who already owns a Double Barrel can simply reconfigure their rig into a Stinger by rearranging a few parts. The Stinger configuration is optimal for shooters working with a Z-Finder EVF. All Zacuto parts are transposable and interchangeable.

This camera rig also includes a Zipgear Universal that can wrap around any lens to function with any .8 pitch gear 15mm based follow focus. Additional Zipgear Universals can be purchased to use with other lenses.
