IAB "Rising Stars" Advertising Units First Available With PointRoll

June 9, 2011 - NEW YORK, NY

PointRoll, a Gannett Company and the leading provider of digital marketing technology, announced today at the IAB Innovation Days, The Future of Display conference in New York, that it is the first advertising technology company to support the new-to-market ad units resulting from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB)'s "Rising Stars" competition. Leading publishers have joined forces with PointRoll to enable advertisers to implement these new ad formats, which are brand-friendly units that aim to spur greater creativity in online advertising.

"Adoption of the IAB Rising Stars by brand marketers and publishers is skyrocketing, and strategic providers like PointRoll are playing a critical role in the momentum," said Peter Minnium, consulting director and leader of the "Rising Stars" project at IAB. "The brilliant execution of these new formats, added to their ever-wider circle of adopters, is key to their ultimate success in driving brand advertising online."

Touching all parts of the digital marketing ecosystem, PointRoll understands both the art and science of digital engagement and how to deliver campaigns that encompass both at scale. Founded more than 10 years ago, PointRoll has a history of "firsts," which include the expandable ad and rich, interactive iPhone and iPad executions. Delivering engagement, efficiency and ad effectiveness, PointRoll's ability to support the new IAB ad formats represents continued commitment to innovation and leadership in the digital advertising technology space.

"With so much focus on data and targeting, the online advertising industry has fallen victim to complacency about creative," said Cat Spurway-Hepler, SVP of Strategy & Marketing at PointRoll. "The IAB's 'Rising Stars' formats help spotlight the importance of creative in delivering successful online ad campaigns. PointRoll's history of leading the charge to innovate and deliver across platforms enabled us to bring these new IAB formats to market quickly, allowing us to continue to deliver creative -- and targeted -- advertising experiences in any format and across mobile, social, video, local/circulars and out-of-home channels."

The IAB is an advertising industry association comprised of more than 500 leading media and technology companies who are responsible for 86 percent of online advertising in the United States. Committed to spurring greater creativity in interactive advertising and driving adoption of innovative, brand-friendly ad formats, the IAB announced in February 2011 six new "Rising Stars" ad units that will be adopted as standard IAB formats as part of their "Reimaging Interactive Advertising" initiative.
