EDIMS Launches EDIMS QuickNav at HIMSS Conference

February 22, 2011 - ORLANDO, FL

Booth #2031 -- EDIMS, a leading provider of interoperable emergency department (ED) information management systems, today announced the release of EDIMS QuickNav at the HIMSS 2011 Annual Conference and Exhibition. The electronic health record (EHR) solution automates ED documentation, order entry, patient tracking and charge capture while enabling facilities to deliver higher quality care efficiently and cost effectively.

With QuickNav, EDIMS has redesigned and merged its system's main grid and nursing dashboard, creating a new look and feel that makes more data available and readable in one glance. Standard views are all role-based, allowing a great deal of user flexibility for designing unique views which are then retained for individual users from one computer station to another.

"EDIMS has always been a leader in providing clinicians with an EHR that is so easy to use that it improves their productivity. Our new version continues this tradition by delivering greater efficiencies and enhanced decision support for clinicians, enabling them to document and access the information they need to make safe and informed decisions even faster than before," said Shane Hade, EDIMS's CEO. "And hospital administrators like it because the clinicians are happy and more productive. Furthermore, EDIMS's CPOE and EHR help hospitals to qualify for incentives for the meaningful use of EHRs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act."

Additional enhancements include:

  • Outstanding Orders Status -- allows users to easily track where an order is as it is processed. For instance, if there is a delay in executing a test or administering an intravenous solution, users know exactly where the holdup is and will be able to address it immediately.

  • Mouse Over Reveals -- increases readability of patient data when clinicians place the cursor over their areas of interest.

  • Integrated Physician and Nursing Look-Up Screens -- reduces the number of clicks needed for users to toggle between the two documentation areas.

  • Role-sensitive Tool Bar -- tabs are set according to job duties. For example, a doctor is automatically assigned tabs for order entry, lab results and physician documentation while a nurse would be given tabs for triage, documentation and order completion.

  • Role-targeted View -- enables individuals to customize and prioritize the order in which information tabs are displayed on the grid and retain preferences until users modify them.

  • Vital Sign Manager -- eases the finding and tracking of vital signs. Information is instantly available in a set area, regardless of how it was entered into the system. Physicians can access the latest vital signs as well as compare recent readings over time to determine if a patient's condition has changed.
