Consumers Can Enter to Win a Trip to New York City to Learn to Cook + Feel Their Best With Food Network Chef Ellie Krieger

June 8, 2011 - Modesto, CA

The Almond Board of California and registered dietitian Ellie Krieger have partnered for a food-filled sweepstakes that will send one Grand Prize winner and a friend to New York City the weekend of July 9-10, 2011, for a whirlwind one-on-one experience with the Food Network star.

While many people try to live healthfully, exercise, and opt for the healthiest dish on the menu, anyone could use a little advice from someone who wrote the book on delicious, healthy cooking. Krieger, host of "Healthy Appetite" on Cooking Channel and almond enthusiast, is offering a peek into how she strikes this balance in her own life.

"Anyone can learn to cook and feel their best by getting to know what's available at their local markets, then adding a little creativity and a handful of almonds," Krieger said. "I can't wait to show someone around one of my favorite markets and discover what's in season."

Krieger also will share her favorite cooking tips, including adding almonds for a snap of crunch and distinctive taste that adds a sudden sophistication and wallop of flavor to any dish.

It's a delicious partnership made in foodie heaven -- one lucky winner can expect to grab their favorite recyclable bag for a jaunt to the famed Union Square Farmer's Market for a one-on-one VIP tour where Ellie will share some of her best tips for using farm-to-table foods to prepare healthy daily menus for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Then, over a casual lunch, the winner and Ellie will have a personal consultation and discuss diet goals and challenges, or just reminisce about all the they've seen -- either way, Ellie will personally create a 90 day meal plan for the winner that's sure to include a handful of almonds every day.

The winner also will receive a year supply of almonds, Ellie's Limited Edition Almond Tin, an autographed copy of Ellie's new cookbook slated for release in Fall 2011 and a chance to get culinary hands on Ellie Krieger's new cookware line that will make anyone feel like they have their own cooking show -- in their home kitchen!

In addition, there will be more than 200 First and Second place prizes awarded for those who enter to win by June 19, 2011. For rules and conditions, and to enter to win, visit Learn more about Ellie Krieger by visiting or follow her on Twitter at
