Cascadia Capital Promotes Jamie Boyd and Bryan Jaffe to Managing Director

June 8, 2011 - SEATTLE, WA

Cascadia Capital, a diversified, boutique investment bank serving both private and public growth companies around the globe, today announced that Jamie Boyd and Bryan Jaffe have both been promoted to the role of Managing Director. In this role, Boyd and Jaffe will advise high growth and middle market companies on mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, growth equity financing, and later-stage capital raises based on their deep domain expertise and strong relationships across the industry.

Jamie Boyd, who joined the firm in 2004, is responsible for group initiatives in the sustainable practice area (alternative energy and clean technology related industries) as they relate to all aspects of capital formation, M&A, project finance, and corporate finance related transactions. Boyd has advised in the sustainable industries arena since the group's inception at the firm over five years ago. Prior to joining Cascadia Capital, he was a corporate lawyer with the international law firm Dechert LLP. Boyd holds an L.L.M. from New York University School of Law, a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.

Bryan Jaffe joined Cascadia in 2005, and has since built a successful practice focusing on M&A and equity and debt private placement mandates for middle market businesses in the Pacific Northwest. His extensive experience working with companies in the business services, food, consumer/retail, manufacturing, and transportation industries has proven integral in brokering transactions on behalf of the firms' clients. Prior to joining Cascadia, Jaffe was a Vice-President with Gordian Group, LLC. He received his MBA from Wharton School of Business, and holds a BSBA in Business Administration from Washington University.

As recent transactions demonstrate, Boyd and Jaffe have established themselves as leaders in their respective practice areas. Notably, Boyd played an integral role in securing growth equity financing from an international syndicate of investors for FRX Polymers, a green chemical company, as well as a $143 million growth equity investment led by Soros Fund Management LLC for Plasco Energy Group, a company that converts municipal waste into green power. Jaffe played a major role in structuring and closing Questmark Partners' $8.5 million growth equity financing in Lakewood, WA-based Thrift Recycling Management and in the sale of Tacoma, WA-based Interstate Distribution Co. to Saltchuk Resources, Inc. in a deal valued in excess of $100 million.

"Over the past several years, Cascadia Capital has successfully positioned itself as the leading boutique investment bank in the Pacific Northwest," said Michael Butler, chairman and CEO of Cascadia Capital. "Our team of highly experienced executives, including Jamie and Bryan, has been instrumental in that growth, and will continue to drive the success of Cascadia Capital in the years to come."
