Bracknell - 13th April 2011 - Avnet Technology Solutions, an IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today named Roman Rudolf country manager and managing director for Germany. Rudolf will be responsible for driving Avnet Technology Solutions' strategic priorities for Germany related to profitable growth, operational excellence and people development. Rudolf will report to Graeme Watt, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA, and join the operating group's European Executive Team.

"During Roman's career at Avnet, he has seen the company from many vantage points, including sales, marketing, business development, and mergers and acquisitions," said Watt. "His well-rounded experience, along with his previous tenure as country manager in Austria, will help Roman foster new growth opportunities for Avnet Technology Solutions and its channel partners in Germany."

Rudolf has been with Avnet for more than 12 years, during which he was Avnet Partner Solutions' country manager for Austria for four years. For the past three years, Rudolf worked at Avnet's global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S. as the director of mergers and acquisitions for Avnet globally. In this role he worked closely with Avnet's executive board and was instrumental in facilitating some of the largest acquisitions in the company's history.

Rudolf's new role of country manager and managing director for Germany will commence early in Avnet's new financial year, when acting country manager Gerhard Hundt retires from the position. Gerhard continues with the company on a part-time basis, focusing on various European projects.
