Hyderabad, March 4, 2008: Recognizing the efforts of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Limited in achieving the highest safety measures at workplace, the National Safety Council has felicitated three factories of the Company in Andhra Pradesh for achieving Occupational Health and Safety Assessment (OHSA) Series 18001 Certification.

Hindustan Coca-Cola's Atmakuru unit in Guntur district, Ameenpur unit in Medak district and Moula-Ali unit in Hyderabad district achieved the distinction of becoming world class manufacturing facilities with highest safety and occupational health standards.

The certificates of appreciation were received by factory managers of three units along with the Company South Region Manufacturing head P V R Kumar and Human Resources head G V R K Raju from the Labour Minister of Andhra Pradesh G Vinod at a function here today. The function was organized by the Department of Factories of Andhra Pradesh and the National Safety Council on the occasion of the 37th annual safety day celebrations.

OHSAS 18001 is an Occupation Health and Safety Assessment Series for health and safety management systems. It is intended to help companies to control occupational health and safety risks and was developed in response to widespread demand for a recognized global standard. The certification was created through a concerted effort from a number of the world's leading national standards bodies, certification bodies, and specialist consultancies. It is aimed at establishing an occupational health and safety management system to eliminate or minimise risk to employees and workers.
