The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has paid interim dividend of one billion rupees to the Central Government for the current fiscal.

New Delhi, Mar 10 : The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has paid interim dividend of one billion rupees to the Central Government for the current fiscal.

Chairman K. Ramalingam presented the cheque to Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.

AAI has undertaken a number of projects to improve airport infrastructure in the country in view of ever growing traffic in civil aviation sector.

During the current financial year, the authority is likely to incur capital expenditure of more than Rs. 19 billion in modernizing the airports and passenger facilities all across the country.

The authority is also undertaking city side development of 35 non- metro Airports to meet the growing demand of civil aviation sector.
