The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of range of bilateral agreements that included a bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement with Uruguay, a bilateral agreement with Egypt on foreign convicted prisoners to be transferred to their home countries and an extradition treaty with Mexico.
New Delhi, Sept 6 : The Union Cabinet today gave its approval for signing of range of bilateral agreements that included a bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement with Uruguay, a bilateral agreement with Egypt on foreign convicted prisoners to be transferred to their home countries and an extradition treaty with Mexico.
India have already signed such mutual legal assistance treaty in criminal matters with Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, Canada, Russian Federation, France, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, united Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, United States of America, South Africa, Bahrain, Thailand, Kuwait, South Korea, Singapore, Belarus, Mauritius and Spain.
Besides this, the Cabinet also approved signing of a bilateral cooperation in the field of health and medical science with Mongolia for a period of three years.
The said agreement shall facilitate cooperation between India and Mongolia in the field of Health and Medical Science on the basis of equality, reciprocity and mutual benefit, a statement issued by the Government stated.
The Union Cabinet also gave its approval to the MoU signed between India and Italy on February 15, 2007 on Indo-Italian Renewable Energy cooperation.
The MoU will help in establishing new and renewable energy cooperation between Italian and Indian entities with the aim of developing new and renewable energy technologies.
