Baba Arts' Inks Deal with STAR For 'My Friend Ganesha' IPRs

Entertainment Co Sees IPR Market As Lucrative Long Term Bet

Mumbai, June 6, 2007: Mumbai based Baba Arts Limited, a major player in Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in the Entertainment space, has acquired the Copyrights, excluding Theatre and Music Rights, of the new live-action animated film 'My Friend Ganesha'. This includes the lucrative Satellite and Overseas Rights, and Baba has already sold the Satellite Rights and Merchandising & Licensing Rights to STAR Network.

This is the first time that STAR has acquired Merchandising and Licensing Rights of a Hindi Movie. Baba still holds sway over the rights, and will exploit these in due course of time. These include: the World Wide Video Rights; World Wide Rights for all TV Formats; Theatrical Rights outside India; Internet and Broad Band Rights; Air Borne and High Seas Rights; and Mobile Rights.

The rights to 'My Friend Ganesha' have been acquired by Baba for a period of 11 years, reflecting the company's long-term plans for the IPR segment. The company has also acquired rights for telecasting blockbuster Hindi movies like 'Krrish', 'Bhagam Bhag', 'Honeymoon Travels', 'Zinda', and others on state channel Doordarshan.

Baba Arts is a multifaceted Entertainment company, poised to quickly become an influential industry spokesman. It has four divisions dealing in areas of Intellectual Property Rights space, film production, home video and post production.
