Vinod Rai has been appointed as the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India (CAG), the countrys top official auditor.
New Delhi, Dec 17 : Vinod Rai has been appointed as the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India (CAG), the country's top official auditor.
His appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge of his office.
An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Kerala Cadre-72 batch is presently working as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
Rai will take over from Vijayendra N Kaul. He took over as the CAG on March 15, 2002.
The CAG plays a key role in the functioning of the financial committees of Parliament and the State Legislatures.
